(From Andes to the Jungle)


Fishing Season: May- November.

In this trip we combine trekking and fishing following a route though some of the most beautiful andean lakes in the Peruvian highlands on the path to Machu Pichu, the world famous lost city of the Incas.

The trek through the Andean Mountain path is of medium-high difficultly level.

Day 1: Pick up from the hotel in Cusco and transfer to the town of Huaran in the Sacred Valley, where the trek will commence. We will walk for around 3 hours to our lunch site where we rest for about 2 hours, and then we continue walking for 3 more hours to the first luxury camp site in the village of CanchaCancha.

Day 2: We will leave the campsite early in the morning and continue trekking up through the valley the the first lagoon where we will spend the rest of the day. After a full day of fishing and walking around this beautiful lakes, the campsite will be waiting with some hot drinks and if the weather permits a roaring fire to end the day.

Day 3: This day begins with aa 2 hour trek which will lead us through our first mountain pass and incredible scenery. After this there will be a further 2 hours trekking until the lunch stop, which is just on the edge of our next fishing spot, Quishuarani Lake (Hatuncocha). Where our luxury camp site will be assembled while you are fishing.

Day 4: We start fishing early in the morning before breakfast, after breakfast there will be an opportunity to fish for a couple hours and then we continue trekking for around one hour, at the point our transport will be waiting to take us to large hot springs, where we will have lunch and enjoy the medicinal water, in the afternoon we will travel to the hotel In Ollantaytambo.
Optional Day 5: We take the train to AguasCalientes (Machupicchu pueblo) and we visit the sanctuary of Machupicchu. In the afternoon we return to Olantaytambo town were our transport will be waiting fto take us back to Cusco. (optional extra day in AguasCalientes).

The trekking on this trip requires all participants to be in a good physical condition. We will reach up to 14764 feet or 4000 meters over 3 days of walking. It is recommended that that all participants spend a day acclimatizing in Cusco city before the trip.

The weather conditions in the Andes is unpredictable, very hot and sunny during the day while extremely cold at night with a high possibility of rain. Waterproof clothing along with suitable garments for both hot and cold temperatures are required. Also sun cream and insect repellent are advisable.
